Latest Headlines 22nd September 2002 World Cup Report The FIFA Technical Report is now available with comprehensive statistics on the 2002 World Cup. This report was compiled by the FIFA Technical Study Group, comprising experienced experts who analysed each one of the 64 matches and each of the 32 teams. The 286-page report takes account of three main areas:
A general analysis of the tournaments organisation and specialised fields such as medical, refereeing, stadia, media and commercial partners;
A technical and tactical analysis of the results in each confederation. This includes details on the systems of play, goalkeepers’ performances, the final itself, and official FIFA awards;
A 170 page section which includes statistics, facts and analyses of each of the 32 finalist. This report can be downloaded complete or in seperate sections. 30th June 2002 BRAZIL ARE WORLD CHAMPIONS It all started back on 4th March 2000 when Marvin Andrews of Trinidad & Tobago scored the first goal in the 2002 World Cup Qualifying competition.
Today after over 840 matches, it ended in Yokohama Japan, when Ronaldo of Brazil, winner of the Golden Boot, scored the last goal of the competition to defeat Germany and see Brazil crowned World Champions.
