Premier Division
The last match of the season was a nine goal thriller with Benfleet beating visitors Faces F.C. 5 – 4. Nathan Collins got a hat-trick for the hosts with Jamie Windows and Jimmy Colvill getting one each. Jon Wightman scored all for goals from Faces
Mountnessing Boca rather spoilt the celebrations at Harold Wood Athletic on Wednesday evening when goals from Sener Suavi and two from Addie Smith gave them a 3 – 1 win over the champions whose goal came from Danny Rafis
Senior Division One
The last Saturday of the season saw the final piece of the jigsaw fit into place after the most amazing match of the season. Rayleigh Town went into their last match knowing that they needed to beat visitors Leytonstone United by eleven clear goals to gain promotion to the Premier Division.
Six goals from John Hodges, five from Ricky Thompson and one each by Carl Baldwin and Chris Baddeley gave them a 14 – 0 win and moved them into second place with a four goal goal difference over Hutton.
Andy Denny and Ben Smith both scored twice and Andrew Smurthwaite and Stuart Wardley once as Bishops Stortford Swifts won 6 – 0 at home to Roydon.
Shell Club Corringham travelled the short distance up the A13 to Linford Wanderers and took home the points from a 4 – 1 victory. Rory Cook scored twice and Michael Archer and Lee Greaves once each for Shell while Duncan Miller scored for Linford.
Buckhurst Hill also won away beating Herongate Athletic 3 – 1. Sam March scored for Gate while Dave Burnage, Danny Morgan and Besar Zeneli shared the Buckhurst Hill goals.
On Tuesday evening Lukas Hall scored a hat-trick and Luke Meadwright one as Hutton finished their season with a 4 – 1 win at Linford Wanderers whose scorer was James Dwyer.
Also on Tuesday Rayleigh Towns 2 – 1 win at Herongate Athletic means that to gain promotion in second place they have to beat Leytonstone United by eleven clear goals when they meet at Rayleigh on Saturday. Trevor Heyburn scored for Herongate with Ricky Thompson and Ross Webster getting the important away goals for Town.
Senior Division Two
Before a crowd of over 100 the top two played their final match at Southminster St. Leonards and it was the hosts who ran out winners 3 – 1 over the division champions Sungate. After Sungate had missed a penalty David Main put the hosts ahead from the spot but Jamie Watkins equalised just before half time. In the second half Ben Codling headed home a cross before Danny Noble sealed the win with a 30 yard thunderbolt.
In a tight match at Ramsden the home side ran out 3 – 2 winners over Newham United. Lee Springer and Danny Childs scored for Newham with Lee Bingham getting two and James Hosier one for Ramsden.
Wayne Beeson scored for Debden Sports but it was visitors Broomfield who ended their season with a 2 – 1 victory thanks to goals from Elliott Walker and Nick Horsnell.
On Wednesday Sungate made hard work of securing the divisional title when they were held to a 1 – 1 draw by visitors Shenfield A.F.C. Sam Locke scored for Shenfield with Dave Limber getting the important goal for Sungate
In a feisty Tuesday evening local derby at Southminster St. Leonards, the home side took the lead in the first half through Shaun Hull but Maldon St. Marys picked up a point thanks to a 75th minutes goal from Tom Broadhurst.
Playing their final game of the season on Tuesday, Writtle played host to Runwell Hospital who ended their season with a victory 3 – 1 . Gary Stevens scored for Writtle while Colin Nuding, Lee Benning and Luke Smith got the Runwell goals
