THE NEW NATIONAL LEAGUE SYSTEM

The National League System consists of leagues below Division Three of the Nationwide League. The system is divided into steps with the intention of providing a means of progress through the levels for ambitious clubs.

Promoted clubs will be decided by a series of play-offs with a decision as to which league at the next level the clubs go up into will be decided by a committee at the Football Association on a geographical basis. This committee will also decide which leagues relegated clubs go into.

Below are details of the various steps which have been agreed down to step 4.

Discussions are currently taking place to finalise the make up of levels 5 to 7.

A copy in .pdf format of the National League System Regulations is available from this site

It should also be noted that only the top divisions of leagues at Step 7 are classified as being part of the National League System

Where a league does not have an official site, preference has been given to the link to the Football Mitoo site which is more comprehensive.

If you find any of links are incorrect or do not work, please e-mail me as I would like to keep this information up to date.
