The eofl now has a twitter account
Why you may ask ??
Well I thought it would be a good way of communicating important information during the season such as, notification of postponed matches, advising changes of club personnel or when fixtures have been updated etc., items that do not really need a separate article on the Web Site. You never know I might twitter something that saves your club getting a fine
I will see how it goes over the next few months and how many clubs and others follow it. If no-one uses it I can always cancel it !!!!!!
To log on go to EOFL on Twitter
If your club has its own Twitter page let me know so I can add it to my "following" list.
You can also receive eofl Twitters by text. Details of how to do this are available at Adding Your Phone Number To Twitter
Authentication of Registration Checks
So far this season league officers have carried out Authentication of Registration checks at almost 30 matches. Over ten percent of these matches have thrown up discrepancies and resulted in three clubs being fined for playing unregistered players under false names. In the main the decision to play unregistered players has been taken by the team manager as he has been players short and thought he could get away with it.
By the end of the season it is anticipated that over 100 such Authentication of Registration checks will have been carried out and clubs found to have played a player under a false name will be fined and will, in the case of repeat offences, be putting their continued membership of the league in jeopardy.
There have also been a number of cases of teams signing on players on the day of a match who have already been signed on by another club in our league. Normally there are a few days between a player being asked to play and the date of the match. It is therefore recommended that clubs check with the Registration Secretaries prior to signing any player on on the day of a match.
The Hon. Secretary also has a list of players registered up to the end of the previous month and can be contacted if either of the registration secretaries are unavailable.
Respect
All clubs in this league have, by being accepted into our Constitution, signed up to the Football Association Respect programme. Appendix B in the League handbook details the behaviour expected of club officials, spectators and players at matches in our league.
It is therefore regrettable that the League Management Committee are receiving more and more letters from referees regarding the abuse they are getting from managers and spectators as well as the increase in dissent from players.
Already this season three managers have been reported to the E.C.F.A. as has one spectator. There have also been almost fifty players sent off.
The Management Committee retain all reports received and monitor action taken by the E.C.F.A. with regard to the behaviour of players, club officials and spectators and, where it is deemed necessary, will take action against clubs who do maintain the requirements of the Respect programme.

E-Mail Problems
Some people have been experiencing intermittent problems receiving e-mails from eofl.co.uk e-mail addresses or e-mails forwarded from eofl.co.uk e-mail addresses.
This has been a particular problem with people with BT or Yahoo e-mail addresses.
It is therefore necessary for everyone to ensure that their e-mail "white list" contains the eofl.co.uk domain name.
Details of how those with BT and Yahoo addresses can do this have been uploaded to the site and can be accessed via the link below.
Those of you with other e-mail addresses will have to contact your ISP or look on your mail page to find out how to do this.
It is most important that everyone associated with the league has an active and working e-mail address if the league is to work efficiently.
