Essex Premier Cup Final
White Ensign finally managed to overcome their Billericay Town hoodoo when they lifted the Essex Premier Cup following a 2 - 1 victory over Brentwood Town.
White Ensign went ahead after just eight minutes when a cross from the right was headed powerfully home by Ricki Thompson. They went two up after 8 minutes of the second half when a clearance was missed by the Brentwood Town defence and Mike Shelly struck a perfect shot into the bottom right hand corner of the net.
After 78 minutes Brentwood Town pulled a goal back when a trip on the edge of the six yard box resulted in a penalty which was fired into the top left hand corner.
The crucial point of the game came just three minutes later when Brentwood Town were awarded a further penalty for a foul by the goalkeeper. This time the shot went over the bar but despite some frenetic attacking in the last 10 minutes Brentwood Town failed to equalise.

Kelvedon Hatch will be hoping to repeat last seasons success in the final after two goals each from John Bates and Rob McCarthy and a Gavin Cooper strike gave them a 5 – 0 victory over visitors Frenford Senior.
Their opponents in the final will be division one M & B Club who won a close match at home to Westhamians 3 – 2. Brendan Van Rosen and Tommy Morris scored for the visitors with Michael Daniels hitting two and Michael Barlex one to put their side into their first league final which is on 13 May at Billericay Town
Denny King Memorial Cup Semi-Final

Reserve Division Cup Semi-Final
After 90 minutes the tie between Takeley and Kelvedon Hatch was goalless but extra time goals from Gary Goodger and Stuart Nock took Takeley through to a final clash with Shell Club Corringham on 06 May also at Billericay Town
Southend Charity Cup Group 'B' Final
Quite a large crowd were in Eastwoodbury Lane at kick off time on Thursday evening to see if Linford Wanderers were able to complete the first leg of a possible double when they faced Essendon from the Premier Division of the Southend Borough Combination.
It was a scrappy start to the game with neither side being able to assert themselves but it was Linford who opened the scoring when an infringement saw Nicky Judd score from the spot. This settled Linford and they added a second with a header from Paul Sargent with a third just before the break being put away by Lee Guiver.
This left Essendon looking downhearted but the second period started with them looking to pull back the deficit which they did but it was not enough as both sides then suffered some very strange decisions that saw a flurry of yellow cards before Linford Wanderers finally ran out 3 – 1 winners.
