League Tables Senior One Reserve Division

111 Goals for Senior Champions

After a long season caused by numerous weather cancellations, founder member Collier Row Motor Gear left the League and joined the London Spartan League to pursue their quest for Senior status. Taking their place were Takeley who only four seasons earlier had won the Essex Junior Cup.

In the Senior Division Rayleigh, for the second season running, scored over hundred goals and this time they proved sufficient to take the Championship with Essex Police finishing as runners-up.

Takeley made their presence felt, and in their first season lifted the Senior Division Cup when they defeated Burnham Ramblers.

The Reserve section belonged to Runwell Hospital, who fought off neighbours Rayleigh to take the Reserve Division title by one point, and completed the double by beating Old Chelmsfordians in the Reserve Division Cup final.

Runwell Hospital also played in both the Senior and newly instigated Reserve Division Challenge Cups. In the absence of Collier Row Motor Gear, the first team beat the previous seasons Senior Division Cup runners-up Benfleet to win the Senior Challenge Cup, but the Reserves lost out to Herongate Athletic.

Winners of the Sportsmanship Award were Burnham Ramblers Reserves.

Once again no representative matches were played.

Tailpiece

Last season Rayleigh came fourth in the league with exactly the same record as this season. The only difference being that, this season they scored eleven more goals and let in nine fewer and this season fifty one points was enough to win the Senior Division.
