DeJa Vue

This season was overshadowed by the loss of our patron Charles Rand MBE who had served the league for over 40 seasons. Our league was an immensely important part of his life and we owe him our gratitude for all that he did.

The season ended very much as last season did with White Ensign retaining the premier division championship and Kelvedon Hatch retaining the senior division cup by beating M & B club on penalties.

The same happened in the reserve section with Harold Wood Athletic retaining the division one title and Shell Club Corringham hanging on to the reserve division cup with a 2 – 1 win over Takeley.

The season started back in august 2007 with White Ensign winning the senior and Harold Wood Athletic the reserve challenge cups.

Runners up in the premier division were Takeley in their last season with us before they move up to the Essex Senior League.

Moving up into the premier division next season are Potter Street and M & B club who both gained promotion last season.

In an amazing change of fortune Linford Wanderers, who finished bottom of senior three, last season with no wins, only two points and 136 goals against bounced back to the top of the division and gained promotion with Hannakins Farm.

In the reserve section, Shell Club Corringham finished runners-up in division one and both M & B club and Mountnessing gained instant promotion from division one after moving up a division at the end of last season.

Leigh ramblers and Benfleet gained promotion into reserve division two.

This season all three cup finals went into extra time and in the denny king memorial cup potter street ran out winners over faces f.c. in an all division one final.

After winning the 2006-07 final of the Capital Counties Feeder league trophy which was held over to September 2007 White Ensign achieved their ambition and won the only cup to allude the club when they beat Brentwood Town in the Essex Premier Cup final.

This seasons Capital Counties Feeder League Trophy final was an all league affair with Frenford Senior running out winners over Canning Town.

Bishops Stortford Swifts finished as runners up in Herts Intermediate Cup going down by a solitary goal in a tense final against Kings Langley.

Tailpiece

In an amazing coincidence all three cup finals went into extra time
